How to record a webcam video. The webcam recorder in Clipchamp allows you to record videos and easily edit and export them. It works with your computer's built-in camera and microphone, with any connected external cameras, and external microphones. See below for a step-by-step guide.

If your PC has a built-in camera or a connected webcam, you can use the Camera app to take photos and videos. To find the Camera app, select Start > Camera . Select any heading below. It'll open to show more info about using your camera or webcam.

Open the Camera in Windows. To open up your webcam or camera, select the Start button, then select All apps, and then select Camera in the list of apps. If you have multiple cameras, you can switch between them by selecting Change Camera at the top right once the Camera app is opened.

In Windows, having a camera and microphone as part of your device lets you make Teams video calls, take pictures, record videos, and more. Many apps and services request and use the camera or microphone, and Windows settings give you control over which apps can use your camera or microphone.

Step 1. Locate the screen recorder. In Clipchamp for personal accounts, to take a recording, go to the record & createtab on the toolbar. Next, click on the screen tool or screen & camera tool.

Select Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Camera, then make sure Camera access is turned on. This setting lets any user on the device choose if they want apps to be able to access the camera. Note: If you can't change the Camera access setting, you'll need an administrator on the device to turn it on for you.

Restart your PC. If you haven't restarted your device since the camera stopped working, you should do so. Select Start > Power > Restart . Waking up your device from sleep isn't the same thing as a restart. Test your camera with the Camera app. Select Start , then choose Camera from your apps.
